IWATE UNIVERSITY IHATOV SUMMER PROGRAM(IUIS)Standard Course
The Iwate University IHATOV Summer Program (IUIS) is a 2-week program where students can learn Japanese language and culture. This program is open to students who are enrolled in our partner universities, and offers two Japanese courses, an introductory course, and a lower intermediate course. Participants will be able to deepen their understanding of Japan and Iwate through not only Japanese classes but also Japanese cultural activities and field trips while staying in an international student housing on campus (International House).
Target Participants
Students enrolled in overseas partner universities
Japanese level:
① Introductory / no experience in Japanese
② Intermediate & advanced speaking Japanese / N3 or higher
Number of Participants
Maximum 20 students (Up to 3 students per university may participate in this program.)
? Course A (Introductory Japanese / no Japanese experience): Max. 10
? Course B (Intermediate & advanced speaking Japanese / N2 or above): Max. 10
Total: 20 students
Program Period
About 2 weeks from mid-August to late August
Credits
No credits will be granted. Certificate of completion will be issued to the participants.
Participation Fee

⑦ Travel expenses to Morioka (round-trip air tickets and domestic transportation expenses)

⑨ Overseas travel insurance
(Each participant must purchase overseas travel insurance before coming to Japan.)

All day : Arrival → Narita/Haneda/Sendai → Morioka Station → International House Check-in
【DAY2】
Morning : Opening ceremony/ Orientation/ Welcome Lunch with Japanese students
Afternoon : Morioka city downtown tour
【DAY3】
Morning : Japanese classes (200 minutes in total)
Afternoon : Japanese Culture Experience at Morioka Handcraft Village
【DAY4】
Morning : Japanese classes (200 minutes in total)
Afternoon : Shodo (Japanese calligraphy)
【DAY5】
Morning : Japanese classes (200 minutes in total)
Afternoon : Ikebana (Japanese-style flower arrangement)
【DAY6】
All day : Field Trip [Tono and Iwate Tsunami Memorial Museum in Rikuzentakata]
【DAY7】
All day : Free
【DAY8】
Morning : Japanese classes (200 minutes in total)
Afternoon: Kimono Workshop
【DAY9】
Morning : Japanese classes (200 minutes in total)
Afternoon : Sado (Japanese Tea Ceremony)

Afternoon : Japanese fun games ①

Afternoon : Sansa Odori Dance / Closing ceremony / Farewell party

All day : Field Trip [World Heritage, Hiraizumi]

Morning : Moving to Narita/ Haneda/ Sendai
