IWATE UNIVERSITY IHATOV SUMMER PROGRAM(IUIS)Agricultural Course
The Iwate University IHATOV Summer Program (IUIS) is a 2-week program where students can learn Japanese language and culture. This program is open to students who are enrolled in our partner universities, and offers two Japanese courses, an introductory course, and a lower intermediate course. Participants will be able to deepen their understanding of Japan and Iwate through not only Japanese classes but also Japanese cultural activities and field trips while staying in an international student housing on campus (International House).

About 10 days from mid-August to late August
Credits
No credits will be granted. Certificate of completion will be issued to the participants.
Participation Fee
120,000 JPY
※The amounts are subject to change from next year onward.

② Accommodation fee (Including towels, detergent, and other basic household items)
③ Course materials fee
④ Field trip fee
⑤ Japanese language study and cultural expenses
⑥ Bus fare (30,000 yen)

⑦ Travel expenses to Morioka (round-trip air tickets and domestic transportation expenses)
⑧ Food expenses
⑨ Overseas travel insurance
(Each participant must purchase overseas travel insurance before coming to Japan.)

All day : Field Tour [World Heritage, Hiraizumi] (On the way from Tokyo to Morioka)
【DAY2】
Morning : Opening ceremony / Orientation / Welcome Lunch with Japanese students
Afternoon : Morioka city downtown tour
【DAY3】
Morning : Japanese classes (200 minutes in total) / Survival Japanese Course
Afternoon : Japanese Culture Experience at Morioka Handcraft Village
【DAY4】
Morning : Research Facilities Tour at Sunfarm
Afternoon : Ikebana (Japanese-style flower arrangement)
【DAY5】
All day : Research Facilities Tour at Hachimantai Flower Research Center
【DAY6】
All day : Field Tour [Tono and Iwate Tsunami Memorial Museum in Rikuzentakata]
【DAY7】
All day : Free
【DAY8】
Morning : Research Facilities Tour at Andfarm
Afternoon : Sado (Japanese Tea Ceremony)
【DAY9】
All day : Research Facilities Tour at Geo Farm
【DAY10】
Morning : Research Facilities Tour at National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (Rice research center & apple research center)
Afternoon : Research Facilities Tour at Takizawa Farm
【DAY11】
Morning : Morioka to Tokyo and Shizuoka
