11月14日、グローバルビレッジでは独立行政法人国際協力機構(JICA)研究所から、環境評価をご専門とする研究員上條哲也氏をお迎えし二本立て講演の公開セミナー
を行いました。まず、テキスト分析手法による環境影響評価について"Enhancing
the discussion of alternatives in EIA: using principle component analysis
leads to improved public involvement"、つぎに地球規模の環境課題とJICAの
取り組みについて講演頂きました。学部学生、留学生、教員が聴講し、テキスト
分析の手法や環境アセスメント、日本の環境課題への貢献や、 JICA研究所への
キャリアパスについて興味深い質疑応答がなされました。講演後も熱心に質問が
なされました。

On Nov 14, we welcomed Tetsuya Kamijo, a JICA researcher specializing in environmental assessment. Mr. Kamijo gave two multimedia lectures: the first was a published article-based lecture on environmental impact assessment, titled "Enhancing the discussion of alternatives in EIA: using principle component analysis leads to improved public involvement". The second lecture focused on JICA's involvement in global environmental issues, analysis methods, and environmental assessment. The lectures were followed by a question and answer session. Mr. Kamijo also gave advice regarding career pathways.
